RESOLUTION of the Arizona Public Health Association
WHEREAS, H. Gilbert Creceluis, Ph.D., hod dedicated his professional life to serving his fellow man in the Held of public health, working for over 27 years toward improving the health of Arizonans as Director of State Laboratories dedicating his knowledge, energy and expertise toward combatting diseases and improving procedures, facilities, personnel licensure and laboratory licensure in the State of Arizona; and
WHEREAS, Doctor Crecelius specifically has pioneered in research into the diseases of coccidioiodmycosis and rabies and
WHEREAS, Doctor Crecelius, through considerable personal effort, has been responsible for the planning, construction and equipping of and continued improvements in laboratories at Phoenix,Tucson and Flagstaff, in addition to working continuously to upgrade the quality of laboratory personnel and procedures; and
WHEREAS, Doctor Crecelius has further served the cause of public health in Arizona through his efforts as Chairman of the Conference of State and Provincial. Public Health Laboratory Directors, President of the Arizona PublicHealth Association, President of the Arizona Thoracic Society, and Fellow of the American Public
Health Association; and
WHEREAS, Doctor Crecelius has lent his expertise and personal time and effort in collaboration with various societies and professional associations in presenting workshops, addressing citizens groups and drafting legislation to improve the standards relating to laboratory facilities and personnel; and
WHEREAS, Doctor Creceilus has volunteered of his personal time and effort in working to promote careers in public health among the youth of Arizona; and
WHEREAS, Doctor Crecelius has further endeavored to serve both his profession and the general public through numerous contributions to technical and scientific journals ond other publications;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Arizona Public Health Association does hereby recognize and commend II. Gilbert Creceluis, Ph.D,. for his outstanding contributions, faithful service and dedication to public health in the State of
Arizona.
